They can not imagine that I really wanted to be a nurse and that is isnt just that I failed to be a doctor. During this time the beans will double in size ,so make sure the jar is big enough !Now place a thin circle of cloth over the top of the jar . Hold it in place with some string or an elastic band , and pour any water in the jar out of the top . When youve done this , put the jar on its side in a warm , dark place . Water the beans in the morning and at night for three of four days . Make sure each time that no extra water is left in the jar . When the shoots begin to grow, transfer them to plastic bags or containers, keep them in the fridge . Eat them within two or three days . The shoots have plenty of vitamins, minerals and proteins but very few calories and you can eat them without cooking them ! Bon Appetit! B 19. B 20. 22.(D)by by sea 为固定短语,意为“乘船”,如:Go by sea . (D)。 23.(B)on go on a trip (picnic , visit )为惯用句型,意为“去旅行(野餐,访问)”。 To travel by plane is expensive. (A)fit“适合”,一般后接介词forLB)worth“值得”,后一般接名词或动名词,worth the price we paid 意为“值得付钱”,故(B)应为答案。 (A)the,(B)certain“某个”,(C)that均不符合要求。 28.(A)but not….but…. (A)what,(C)Any,(D)Another均无此语法作用。 30.(C)at expert“专家”后接at(in , on)+名词,表示“对… (C)。 31.(A)apparently(A)apparently“显然地”,(B)actually“实际地”,(C)really“确定地,(D)naturally“自然地”。 32.(D)on on board 33.(B)After题句意为“几天以后”,故答案只能是(A)In或(B)After。 35.(B)up take up 36.(A)of (A)(think)of“考虑…,就…思考”;(B)(think)about“思考”;(C)(think)over“再三考虑”;(D)(think)out“研究出”;题句意指“考虑一项特别的话题”,(A)最贴近题意。 37.(D)at at dinner (D)。 38.(B)enthusiasm with great enthusiasm意为“以极高的热情”,(B)符合题意。 39.(B)managed manage to do (A)tried(to do)“试图做…”,表示“可能成功”;(C)succeeded(in)“成功”;(D)continued“继续”;均不符合题意。 40.(D)little know little about 意为“对… Honesty What is honesty? Honesty means speaking the truth and being fair and upright in act . Considered virtue, it is admired in every country and every culture. He who lies and cheats is dishonest. Dishonesty is generally looked upon as an evil, and is despised and condemned by everyone. As the English proverb goes, honesty is the best policy . For one thing, if you want to be trusted and respected by your friends ,you must be honest . A liar is always looked down upon and avoided by the people around him. For another ,if you want to succeed in your work ,the first qualification you should have is honesty . It is through honest efforts that Newton and Einstein became great figures in history. Therefore, whatever your aim is , you must work honestly to attain it. However, there are people who try to get benefits by dishonest means . For example ,some students copy the exercises done by others cheat in examinations, in order to get good marks . The thing may be said of a merchant who ties to get rich by deceiving customers. Those people may succeed for a time ,but sooner of later ,they will be caught , In the end , dishonesty will bring them nothing but troubles.(208字)
